Re: ‘No chairs Wednesday’ a hit on Jomtien Beach (PM Friday, 20 November 2015) – Hooray. At last you can have a peaceful day at the beach. Who needs a chair to sit on? If it’s that vital bring your own. Hundreds of square meters of beach are taken up with vacant chairs. Take a leaf out of Australia’s beach book. Nowhere are chairs to be found on any beaches there and the beach is world renowned as a place of relaxation. Just keep adding another day to the chair-free days about every 6 months then the chair population might reduce voluntarily. It’s all a matter of balance and until the chair free day was invented there was no balance at all.
