A naval regiment got an early jump on Father’s Day, enlisting 1,300 sailors and Sattahip residents to stand in a formation spelling out a salute to HM the King.
Vice Admiral Thanakarn Kraikruan, commander of the Nawik Yotin Navy troop, organized the event.
The civil servants, residents and enlisted personnel joined to spell the message “5th of December Long Live the King” in Thai on the grounds of the Sattahip Naval Base Nov. 27.
The formation, lined up in honor of His Majesty’s 88th birthday Dec. 5, could only be read from a high vantage point.
Thanakarn said the exercise was to show heartfelt loyalty in a creative way.
