Sanctuary of Truth holds day of worship for 5 religions

More than 1,000 people of all faiths expressed their devotion to Their Majesties the King and Queen at a five-religion ceremony hosted by the Sanctuary of Truth in Naklua.

Privy Counselor Chumphon Patjusanon presided over the ceremony where 500 monks accepted alms, rice, and dried food starting at 6:30 a.m. Activities continued throughout the day with members of all five faiths performing religious activities together.

300 monks and neophytes join people of all faiths to express their devotion to Their Majesties the King and Queen at the five-religion ceremony hosted by the Sanctuary of Truth in Naklua.

There were sermons for all faiths, dharma lessons and prayers, including those led for Christians by Rev. Suraporn Suwicharkorn, for Muslims by 10 Imams from Pattaya Mosque, and for Sikhs by the chairman of Wat Zic.

Chat Jayawong, Public relations manager for the Sanctuary of Truth, said the ceremony for followers of Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hindu and Sikh allowed people express their loyalty to the royal couple and generate harmony and unity among people nationwide.
