A Nongprue man was killed after being hit and dragged under a baht bus.

The unidentified victim, a Thai man in his 50s, was found lying in a pool of blood in the middle of Soi Lablae off Soi Mabyailia before dawn Dec. 14.

He had been hit by the vehicle and dragged under it for approximately 100 meters.

The body was found by Wasan Re-ngang, 49, who said he was awakened by the sound of a car in his driveway. He initially ignored it, but when dogs started howling, he went to investigate.

Police found a dented and blood-spattered baht bus parked near the scene. Investigators questioned owner Waipoj Phiset, 47, but he denied hitting anyone.

Officers plan to test the blood on the vehicle and, if it matched, would press homicide charges against the driver, a neighbor of the victim.
