A Thai woman raped while attending an Issan molam concert told police she believes her attacker was a migrant worker.
The 33-year-old victim was dragged from an area near the toilets at the concert venue on Thepprasit Road to a vacant building nearby around 3 a.m. on Dec. 16 and raped.
She was examined and treated for scrapes and cuts to her arms and legs at Banglamung Hospital. Afterward, she told police the man spoke with a strange accent, indicating to her he came from Cambodia, Laos or Myanmar.
She helped police develop a sketch of the rapist and police are checking nearby CCTV cameras to see if they can get a picture of him.
The attack occurred when the victim broke away from friends at the Sieng Issan concert to use the toilets. But when she found all were occupied, she decided to relieve herself in some nearby bushes. It was there she was grabbed by her rapist.
