Monday, Jan. 4, Burapha – Stableford

Div A (0-18)

1st John Cunningham (10) 37pts

2nd Bob St Aubin (16) 34pts

3rd Steve Plant (15) 34pts

Div B: (19+)

1st John O’ Keefe (22) 42pts

2nd Sugar Ray Handford (20) 36pts

3rd Steven O’Sullivan (21) 35pts

Playing on A & B courses always presents an opportunity to tee off from the blues.  Although that makes the course long, Burapha is reasonably forgiving and with the high slope and course index ranking, all players get a couple of extra shots (high handicappers as much as 5 extra shots from the blues).

Kim Danboise with John Lawton and Martin Kingswood.

In A Division Steve Plant had to settle for third place after Bob St. Aubin edged him for second on count back, both on 34 points.  John Cunningham played a great round of 37 points from his revised handicap of 10 to clinch first place.

In the B division, Steven O’Sullivan scored 35 points for third while Sugar Ray Handford went one point and one place better in second.  John O’Keefe blew away the rest of the contenders with a great round of 42 points from his 22 playing handicap.

There were surprisingly four ‘2’s today, considering the field played off the blues, with two for Vince Butler (A3 and A6) and one each for Bob St. Auburn (A3) and Stephen O’Sullivan (A3).

Wednesday, Jan. 6, St. Andrews – Stableford

1st Matt Pallier (22) 40pts

2nd Martin Kingswood (16) 39pts

3rd Scott Wilson (20) 33pts

Welcome back to Martin Kingswood.  Playing in a small field today, Martin scored a brilliant 39 points from his 16 handicap to finish second overall.  However the day belonged to Matt Pellier who scored a superb 40 points from his 22 handicap.

Scott Wilson recorded the only ‘2’ of the day on hole 10.

Friday, Jan. 8, Green Valley – Stableford

Div A (0-15)

1st Kim Danboise (13) 38pts

2nd Peter Lenoury (10) 35pts

3rd Raivo Velsberg (7) 34pts

Div B (16+)

1st John Lawton (21) 36pts

2nd Andrew Makara, (23) 34pts

3rd John Fitzgerald (19) 34pts

Green Valley is in pretty good shape at the moment, but playing conditions weren’t very easy on Friday with a light drizzle and rain making things harder for our golfers.

Despite the rain and damp grass, some good scores were recorded.  In the B division, John Fitzgerald lost out to Andy Makara for second place on count back, both tied on 34 points overall, while the win went to John Lawton with a solid 36 point effort.

In A division, Raivo Velsberg came in third slot with 34 points, Peter Lenoury was one point better in second and Kim Danboise’s lessons appear to finally be paying off after he came in with a great 38 points for the win.

Jay Roche, Martin Kingswood and Raivo Velsberg each recorded a ‘2’.
