The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, January 17. Everyone is warmly welcome. Staff from Pattaya City Hospital will give a presentation on their hospital and the services now available for Thais and Expats. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Don’t miss the grand opening party of Hooters Pattaya. Doors open to the public at 8.00 p.m. on Saturday 16th January. 40 Hooters girls will be there to welcome you along with a live band and guest DJs to entertain you through till 4.00 a.m. the next morning. Hooters is located at the corner of Pattaya Beach Road and Soi 13.

Rotary Club of Jomtien Pattaya will stage the second Pattaya Charity Colour Run on Sunday, January 17 starting at 8 a.m. at the Big Buddha Hill fitness park in South Pattaya. Entrance is THB 600 for the 5km run and THB 400 for the 2km run. A Joint Chambers Eastern Seaboard Networking Evening will be held at the Amari Ocean Pattaya Resort on Friday, January 22 from 6.30 p.m. – 9 p.m. (last drinks served at 8.30 p.m.). Ocean Marina in Na Jomtien will be holding a Trash & Treasure sale on Sunday, Jan 24 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Come and explore the various second-hand items and valuables on sale and seek out some treasure. The Disabled Sailing Association will be hosting a booth and accepting donations and items for donation. Food & drinks will be available at the event.

The 8th Pattaya Bed Race will take place on Sunday, Jan 31 with the pre-race parade and music concerts starting at 4 p.m. Local and international teams will push their highly decorated mobile beds from Central Festival Pattaya Beach shopping mall in a race to the finish line at Walking Street. Nong Nooch Tropical Garden will stage the International Active Run 2016 on Sunday, January 31 starting at 5.30 a.m. Limited to just 1000 runners, the event will feature 3 race distances of 21km (half marathon), 10.5km (mini marathon) and a 4km (fun run). A piano recital by acclaimed Israeli pianist Boaz Sharon will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 16 at the Intimate Hotel by Tim Boutique, Soi 14 Pattaya Second Road, about 100 metres immediately after the entrance to The Avenue shopping mall. The National Museum Pattaya Group will hold a talk on “The Extraordinary ‘Forbidden Women’ of the Inner Court” by Mom Bongkojpriya Yugala na Ayutthaya. This talk will describe the extraordinary lives of the women within the confines of the Inner Court of Rama V (r. 1868-1910). The Royal British Legion Thailand meets the last Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. at the Tropical Bar on Soi Khao Noi (Watboonsampan near the Temple entrance) in East Pattaya. The Samaritans of Thailand English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
