KANCHANABURI, – Kanchanaburi province is holding an OTOP fair from now until Sunday, welcoming the era of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
Kanchanaburi Governor Sak Somboonto said the event is part of the shared administrative strategy between the provinces of Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, and Kanchanaburi. The strategy seeks to empower OTOP manufacturers and operators and prepare them for the challenges that come with the establishment of ASEAN Community.
The governor said the fair would enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of OTOP items made with traditional techniques. Participating OTOP manufacturers and operators would develop their management skills in the AEC environment, find additional distribution channels for their products, and generate more income.
The fair is being held at Kanchanaburi provincial stadium from February 1 – 7, from 9:00am to 9:00pm. There are five zones categorized by types of OTOP items, including food & drinks, garments, tools & souvenirs, herbal products, and exhibition zones.
Event-goers will be treated with a wide range of well-known OTOP products, OTOP manufacturing demonstrations, and entertainment performances.
