The two newest members of the Pattaya City Council officially took office Aug. 9, filling seats left vacant by resignations before last month’s general election.
Zone 2 Councilman Nakhon Phonlookin and Zone 3 Councilman Morakot Noohuang were sworn in by council president Tavich Chaiswangwong Aug. 9 before the council’s first official meeting of the new session.
Nakhon takes over for his uncle, Adison Phonlookin, who retired in May to run for parliament. Morakot, replaces another Phonlookin – Wittaya – who also resigned this spring in hopes of becoming an MP.
The newly elected members Morakot Noohuang (left) and Nakhon Phonlookin (right) state their pledge to act under the Public Administration Act of Pattaya 2009.
“The two new councilmen were elected democratically by the population of Pattaya and have stated their pledge to act under the Public Administration Act of Pattaya 2009,” Tavich said.
