Blind students in Pattaya literally will be using the past for future learning after Bangkok Bank donated a pile of old, prior-year calendars to be turned into braille books.
Patima Chaowarit, a senior vice president for the Bank, presented boxes of old calendars collected from employees and customers to the Redemptorist School for the Blind Feb. 19.

Fr. Michael Picharn Jaiseri, vice president for the Father Ray Foundation, said desktop calendars generally are made with thick paper very suitable for stamping with raised dots and dashes that make up braille for the visually impaired.
Now in its sixth year, Bangkok Bank’s nationwide calendar collection campaign also benefits the environment by recycling unwanted old calendars into learning materials for the blind.
