A bouncer for a South Pattaya bar was arrested at a Jomtien Beach checkpoint for carrying a loaded gun.
Chaichana Chalermpong, 37, was taken into custody around 3 a.m. Feb. 18 by Pattaya police at the checkpoint on Thepprasit Soi 8.
Obviously nervous when stopped, the man submitted to a police check and officers found a 6.25mm pistol in his pants loaded with 0.25mm bullets. It was not registered.
Chaichana Chalermpong (seated) was arrested for allegedly carrying a loaded handgun.
Chaichana told police he was a bar bouncer in South Pattaya and was on his way back to his apartment. He claimed he carried the gun to protect himself and did not intend to shoot anybody.
