Tuesday, March 1, Crystal Bay – Stableford
We had a nice sunny week with a good breeze, it was nice playing. On Tuesday we went with 4 groups to Crystal Bay and found the course in good condition, but the greens were a bit slow. We played the c and A course and had some good scores.
The man of the day was Neil Harvey (H/cap 17), playing very consistently and winning with 40 stable ford points. He just beat George Gamble (25) by one as the latter came second on 39 points and in third was Paddy Devereux (18) with 37, beating Willem Lasonder (19) on a count back.
Near pins went to Stuart Banks and Jonathan Pratt (twice).
Thursday, March 3, Greenwood – Stableford
On Thursday we went up to Greenwood again. The 331 is a disaster at the moment but once you get here the course is always very good. It was certainlty nice today, with good fairways and fast greens and we played the B and C courses.

Neil Harvey confirmed his form and won again with 41 points. George Gamble played a strong front nine but fell back on the inward half to one again fill the bridesmaid’s position with 36 points. In third place was Bob Edwards (10) with 35 points, beating Jonathan Pratt on count back.
Nears pins were claimed by Jonathan Pratt and three times by Neil Harvey.
Note: Siam Country Resort Pattaya, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 meters, with the venue on the left another 200 meters along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days.
