A Russian tourist gave it a good try, but lost her purse to a thief on a motorcycle in Naklua.
Irena Nokova, 46, said she and her friend were just leaving their rooms when a youth on a motorbike drove up behind them near Sai Thong Massage Shop on Naklua Soi 16 and snatched her bag. She tried to pull it back, but the strap broke and the thief fled the scene at high speed.

Police planned to check security cameras in the area after not being able to locate the bag-snatcher.
