The Helicopter Carrier Fleet celebrated its 24th anniversary by awarding 100,000 baht in scholarships to Royal Thai Navy children.
Rear Adm. Wasinsap Chanworarin chaired the March 17 presentation ceremony aboard aircraft carrier HTMS Chakri Naruebet docked at the Sattahip Naval Base. He handed out 43 scholarships for students in kindergarten through university.
Kindergarten and primary school pupils received 31 stipends of 2,000 baht each while 10 secondary and high school students received 3,000 baht each. Two 4,000-baht higher education grants were awarded, bringing the total to 100,000 baht.

Wasinsap said the navy puts a priority on education and approves annual educations to help the children of enlisted personnel and officers.
