UTHAI THANI – Uthai Thani has opened checkpoints on the roads to ensure safety during the Songkran festival.
The Uthai Thani provincial highway police, Ranong provincial police department and a rescue unit of the Uthai Thani Rescue Foundation on Wednesday opened the checkpoints. The checkpoints’ main task is to facilitate road users, tourists as well as the general public on the Songkran days.
The checkpoints also hand out drinking water, cool towels, drinking yogurt and nonprescription drugs to road users. Rest areas are provided for them in an effort to reduce road accidents.
The highway police and the rescue foundation offer service for vehicles in case of breakdown and accident.
