2nd Steve Hogan (21) 36pts
3rd Kevin Mentee (11) 36pts
With Sunday’s game at Green Valley cancelled due to the madness called Songkran, a small but talented group left Lewiinski’s on Monday to take on the formidable Crystal Bay. The weather once again was mad hot with very high humidity but the course was found to be in excellent condition.
Kevin Mcentee.
Only one player managed to better his handicap, that being Bob Christie as he posted a man of the match 37 points. Two players did manage to play to their handicaps as Steve Hogan edged Co. Offaly gang leader Kevin Mcentee for the silver.
Wednesday, April 20, Pattana A & C – Stableford
1st Kevin Mcentee (12) 39pts
2nd Bob Christie (18) 37pts
3rd Billy Briton (18) 34pts
The Co. Offaly gang leader did not have to wait long to put the disappointment of Monday’s count back loss out of his mind as he posted a fine 39 points for the man of the match title at the tough Pattana Sports Club. The man in fine form, Bob Christie, took the silver with a very creditable 37 points while Co. Wicklow’s Billy Briton and Kilkenny man Tom Gorey were left to fight it out for the remaining podium slot and when the divots had settled it was Billy still smiling on the podium as Tom was left at sea level and potless.
Friday, April 22, Silky Oak – Stableford
1st Bob Christie (18) 38pts
2nd Peter Henshaw (23) 38pts
3rd Gerry Roche (17) 37pts
Gerry Roche.
Bob Christie shared the man of the match award with Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw at Silky Oak where the greens were once again back to their best and scores were always going to be good. The count back for the top podium spot went to Bob Christie who made his third pay window visit in as many games, with Peter having to settle for the silver as both finished on 38 points.
Peter’s good mate Gerry ‘the Irish rover’ Roche rounded out the flight with 37solid points.
