PSC Golf from the Phantom Golf Society
Monday, April 25, Greenwood B & C – Stableford
This was our first game after returning from our very successful Kanchanaburi golf trip and combining once again with Colin’s Golf Bar we had a very healthy field of 17 ready to play the best value for money golf course in the region, Greenwood. Now that Route 331 is almost finished the journey there & back is much quicker and back to under one hour each way.
Alistair Gall.
B & C nines were the combination for the day and our first group got away about 20 minutes before our scheduled 10.33am tee time. The weather was fine & hot with very little wind and as usual the course was in great shape and it was once again very surprising to see very few people playing. With no hold ups whatsoever we had a very leisurely and enjoyable round of golf which took about four hours.
We had just the two nearest the pins on the par threes and a longest first putt on B9 & just the one flight with four places.
It was a very tight finish with a count back needed to separate the 2 golfers with 38 points and the result was that the winner was Alistair Gall (18 point back nine & 11 points on last 6 holes) from Satita “New St” Cheoychao (18 point back nine & 9 points on last 6 holes) in second place. In third spot was your writer, Peter “Blacky” Blackburn with 36 points and with 2 golfers on 35 points the count back saw fourth place being awarded to Colin “Donkey” Davis (17 point back nine) from Christian “Psycho” Boysen (16 point back nine) who just missed out.
1st Alistair Gall (18) 38pts
2nd Satita Cheoychao (33) 38pts
3rd Peter Blackburn (17) 36pts
4th Colin Davis (19) 35pts
Near Pins: B2 – Peter Blackburn, B5 – Mike Allidi
Long Putts: B9 – Barry Wellings
Friday, April 29, Pleasant Valley – Stableford
We had another healthy ‘low season’ field of 19 golfers ready to take on the scenic Pleasant Valley Golf course and on a fine and sunny day our first group got away about 10 minutes later than our scheduled tee time due to the course being fairly busy.
The course was in quite good condition although wet in parts due to over watering and in fact towards the end of the round the heavens opened for about 30 minutes. It did not deter many who played through the downpour which enabled most rounds to be completed in about four and a half hours.
Satita Cheoychao (left) & Nim Jareeyaporn.
There were 2 flights with A Flight for handicaps 0 to 18 playing off the blue tees & B Flight for handicaps of 19 and over playing off the white tees. There were also rewards for nearest the pin on the 4 par threes and longest first putts on the 9th & 18th greens.
Nick Shaw was the winner in A Flight with 35 points, 1 point ahead of Mark Williams in second place. In the B Flight it was a “shoot out” between sisters Satita & Nim after both scored 38 points and it was Satita (23 point last nine) who was declared the winner over Nim (19 point last nine) in second spot.
A Flight
1st Nick Shaw (17) 35pts
2nd Mark Williams (15) 34pts

1st Satita Cheoychao (33) 38pts
