NAN – Local media reported a lively atmosphere at the Huai Kon Border Pass in Nan province during the Coronation Day national holiday.
Thai and Laotian vendors set up stalls in the area, attracting a large number of visitors from both nations.
Items being sold at the venue included antiques, agricultural products, wild and domestic produce, and goods from Thailand’s One Tambon One Product and Lao PDR’s One District One Product campaigns.
Local media reported that border pass sales activity was able to generate more than 10 million baht daily during the recent holiday.
The Huai Kon border pass is located in Chaloem Phra Kiat district, Nan province. It operates daily from 8.00 AM to 20.00 PM during weekdays and 08.00 AM -12.00 Noon during weekends.
It can be reached by car by traveling 139 km from Nan province using Highway No. 1080. From the border pass, visitors can travel to Lao PDR’s major cities such as Xayaburi, Luang Prabang and Udomchai. Travelers can also go to Vietnam and China from the Huai Kon border pass.
