Pattaya officials and private citizens came together to give the Chumsai Community a clean sweep.
Community President Chirawat Plukjai led more than 80 volunteers in the May 7 cleanup of the central Pattaya neighborhood, including city complaint center employees, city hall staffers and residents of the Khao Karat condominium.
The group picked up garbage, cleaned public areas and filled plastic bags with plastic, foam boxes and other litter from Soi Arunothai to Soi Dudee to Central Road.
Pattaya officials and private citizens came together to give the Chumsai Community a clean sweep.
Part of the activity was designed to reach out to neighborhood residents with an appeal to keep their community clean and cut down on the use of plastic bags.
“Cloth shopping bags can be re-used to help reduce the amount of solid waste to be burned. But all of us have to agree to abide by the community suggestions,” Chirawat said.
