All the fish in a drying pond at Wat U Mong in Chiang Mai have been moved to safety to a larger pond in Sanpatong district thanks to the help of a large group of fisheries faculty students of Mae Jo University.
The fish at Wat U Mong was at risk of dying because water in the pond has steadily receded due to the hot weather and has become polluted.
The students waded through the muddy pond and caught the fish with hands and simple tools and put them into containers before trucking them to Nong Sra Riam pond in Sanpatong district.
