BANGKOK, 19 September 2011 -Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has instructed security related agencies to enhance safety for people in southern border provinces of Thailand following the recent insurgency.
Deputy Police Chief Adul Sangsingkaew said the investigation had made significant progress with arrest warrants already issued for two of the suspects. According to him, there are at least 5 suspects involved in the recent attack in the South.
Ms. Yingluck, who has been informed of the atrocity, told the security unit to increase safety for the southern residents. The meeting between the Internal Security Operations Command and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre will be convened to find solutions to the problem.
Meanwhile, Deputy Police Chief Adul Sangsingkaew said the situation remained under control, adding that the recent attack was not aimed at defying the new government and that situation had been better given the lower number of car bombs this year.
