Foreign Minister will introduce Thai gov to the UN in NY

BANGKOK, 20 September 2011 -Foreign Minister Mr. Surapong Torwijakchaikul has arrived in New York, United States and is prepared to clarify before the United Nations General Assembly that his government had been elected through democratic means.

In the 66th United Nations General Assembly, the Foreign Minister said he hoped that by announcing the government’s policies to the assembly, Thailand would gain more confidence from foreign investors and for the international community to be aware that the Thai government came from the votes of Thai people.

The Foreign Minister further stated that this trip was also an opportunity for Thailand to meet and exchange opinions with representatives from other nations Mr. Surapong is in New York to attend not only the U.N. Assembly but also other conferences that are also held during the same period. His trip will end on 28 September 2011.
