Secondary education to focus more on vocational skills

BANGKOK, 27 September 2011 -Secretary-General Chinnapat Poomirat of the Basic Education Commission Office said the secondary education should encourage students to develop skills that would help them find a job. 

According to Mr. Chinapat, executives of the Basic Education Commission have agreed that a new curriculum be developed to match the current education policy by Education Minister Mr. Worawot Aueapinyakul who stated that students should be able to find a job after their graduation.

The Bureau of Academic Affairs and Educational Standards will be responsible for developing the curriculum that will focus on improving vocational skills for students. It will be proposed to the Ministry of Education for consideration before revealing it to students and their parents.
