BANGKOK, 28 September 2011 -Industry Minister MD Wannarat Charnukul said his trip, from 23-24 September, 2011, to China to attract auto investors and logistic business owners to expand their businesses in Thailand had been successful.

During this trip, the Industry Minister said he had met executives of many leading auto companies who expressed their interests in expanding their businesses in Thailand. According to him, these investors were planning to find a new market for their cars first before deciding on an investment to build a car factory in the future.

Other potential Chinese investors also showed their interest in the para rubber industry in Thailand particularly in Nakhon Phanom and Surat Thani province. Meanwhile, Kerry Logistics Co Ltd in Hong Kong, which provide a full logistic service in 24 countries across the globe, saw the potential that Thailand could become a logistic hub in this region as there was a trade route that connected Southern China to Thailand’s neighboring countries as well as to Thailand and Singapore.
