Food vendor Maliwan Khwanjai gave “delivery service” a whole new meaning when she gave birth to a new baby daughter in the middle of a South Pattaya street.

Sawang Boriboon Foundation medics were called to the Soi Kophai 4 Sept. 19 after reports a 28-year-old woman had gone into labor. Maliwan and her mother had been watching television at the local market when contractions started. By the time paramedics arrived, it was too late to take her to the hospital.

Maliwan delivery the baby safely, with the girl weighing in at 2.8 kg. Mother and daughter were transported to Banglamung Hospital anyway, to be sure the newborn had all 10 fingers and 10 toes.

It’s a girl! It’s a girl!
