According to the report, Japan invested in Thailand more than any other nations in the world and that Ayutthaya has many industrial sites. The Japanese investors said they wanted the Thai government to clarify to them on the flood situation so that they can prepare a contingency plan.

They also expressed their opinion that the government should try the best they can to save the un-flooded industrial sites in Ayutthaya. Mr. Suparat Sirisuwannangkura, the Senior vice president of Toyota Motor Thailand said the company had planned to suspend the production until 15 October, 2011; however, the suspension could be extended if necessary given that employees were unable to return to the factory and shortages of some auto parts.
