The German Benevolent Society of Thailand donated 50,000 baht to Banglamung Hospital for the purchase of new equipment.

Chumpol Thiengtham of Deutscher Hilfsverein said the association, part of a global network, has been aiding the needy for 30 years. This year the Thai chapter focused on government hospitals in need of new equipment.

Chumpol added that many of the association’s German members wanted to “give something back” after being taken care of well by hospitals in Thailand.

Banglamung Hospital Nursing Chief Thepin Inket, who accepted the donation, admitted the government facility lacked many of the high-tech tools private hospitals enjoyed and that the money would find good use.
