The Queen’s Day indoor lawn bowls tournament and fashion parade took place on August 12 at the Coco Club in east Pattaya and finished with three superb Thai lady champions taking the honours.

The bowls tournament – even with a few roof leaks from a downpour towards the end of the day which did not affect play – was won by Pin with a superior score over birthday boy Harvey, who even at 70 years old was dancing the night away, and Dave “the pro”, who is always in the mix.

This was followed by a few beers, buffet and the music from a super Thai trio group called Black Dog who played while the girls were getting ready for the fashion parade – which was won on a very strict customer vote by Pukky, the ladies singles champion, and made husband Alex very happy, while Pin, the winner of the Queens Day scramble came second and triples winner Thanom took third.  Finishing at nearly midnight everyone chipped in a good tip for the band to finish the evening off.

If you are interested in playing some indoor lawn bowls, call Sue on 087 135 8357 or just pop in to the club and join the staff bowlers for a game from 11.00am onwards.
