PSC golf from The Fairways Golf Society
Tuesday, November 29, Greenwood – P.A.G.S. Monthly Tournament
What a fantastic turnout for this year’s penultimate tournament – 142 golfers vying for all the prizes on offer today. We thought there might be a problem getting everybody in before dark with so many players, but the management let us use the tenth tee for half a dozen four-balls and this proved to be very helpful.
As usual everyone enjoyed the barbecue and prize giving back at the clubhouse where the festivities went on well into the night. It is still wide open at the top of the tables for this year’s overall winners in both the men’s and ladies divisions with several players still in contention (good luck to them all in the final round on Dec 27 at Emerald Golf Club). If by any chance there is a tie for first place the winner will be decided by the player who has amassed the most stableford points over the six best rounds.

Friday, December 2, Royal Lakeside – Stableford
We had a much smaller field today after Tuesday’s massive turnout, so only one division. Scott Dobbins was the only player to break par scoring 37points of his scratch handicap. Pier Cere had one near pin while John Coetzee, who had a really good day, took the other three and also secured second place.

Everybody agreed it was well worth the trip to play this coarse as we found it to be in excellent condition.

3rd Pier Cere (12) 32pts
