PSC golf from The Golf Club
Monday, December 26, Green Valley (White tees) – Stableford
1st Sonny Crawford (8) 43pts
2nd Tom Balch (27) 41pts
3rd Brian Wilkinson (15) 38pts
It’s funny how we evaluate a golf course: generally speaking, the better one plays on a course the higher rating one would normally give it. Green Valley is widely regarded as one of the best and most consistent in the area, and a certain Mr. Sonny Crawford would agree as he usually shoots very well here. Last week he was 2nd and this week he wins it outright so well played Sonny.
It should also be noted that Sonny is a regular visitor to our mates at the Fairways Golf Driving Range and gets lessons from Richard, so as Gary Player once said, “Perfect practice makes perfect”. Your scores will drop if you practice correctly, simple as that!
John Emmerson & Sonny Crawford.
Teacher Tom, who won last week, had to settle for 2nd this trip out, and everybody’s favourite Englishman Brian Wilkinson was 3rd with 38 points on the day. Thanks to all for supporting our regular Monday venue and making it such a popular day of the week for golf.

Bob Newell with Martin Zimmerman, Brian Prudden, Warren Holland and Gareth Gill.
It was just brutal out there today. Treasure Hill is a difficult course to play under any conditions, but throw in a 30 mph wind and fast and dry greens and that will explain why we had such a low Stableford point count on the day. The greens were superfast and on some holes the ball just would not hold at all. One of the lads putted uphill about a foot past the hole and it came back and rolled in! Anyway, we all survived and had absolutely beautiful weather so we still had a great day on the course.
It is not often we have a B flight winner with a better score than the A Flight winner but such was the case today. Dave Shelton came up with 30 points to win the A Flight and fellow American Warren Holland made the B Flight proud with 32 points on this difficult track.
Warren just beat out Joe (Scrabble Points) Kowalczyk and Brian Prudden with a very admirable 31 points for their efforts. It must be mentioned that Brian had a great start with 18 points on his front nine!
In the locker room, it was also good to see that they have replaced the funky metal army lockers with much nicer and larger wooden ones to improve the changing room environment and continue with the steady stream of course improvements that the Saha Group is investing in Treasure Hill. Thank you!
Friday, December 23, Crystal Bay (White tees) – Monthly Medal
A Flight
1st Gareth Gill
B Flight
1st Martiin Zimmerman
C Flight
1st Warren Holland
It was the Warren Holland show this week at The Golf Club as he strolled to victory twice and most importantly at Crystal Bay to capture the final Monthly Medal of 2011. Warren garners his first Monthly Medal Antigua golf shirt and is a proud member of the one-star club with hopes of many more to follow… watch out Bob and Ian, our only three-star winners so far!
A very Happy Birthday to Khun Bow of Crystal Bay!
Gareth Gill carved out a victory from a large group of low handicappers for his return to form and winner of the A Flight and Martin Zimmerman took top spot for the B Flight boys.
Near pins by Brian Prudden and Keith Warboys (nearly an ace!) rounded out the headliners for this months’ medal. Please see our facebook page: www.facebook.com/golfclubpattaya for more results and details of upcoming events and road trips.
