Pattaya officials signed a tourism-cooperation agreement with Qingdao, China to facilitate exchange of knowledge and technology, as well as see Pattaya exhibit at a 2014 floral show there.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome welcomed Lou Guanlian, deputy director-general of the Qingdao Tourism Administration, and nine staffers to Pattaya City Hall Jan. 31. There the mayor, Bunpit Sirithunyhong, president of the Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association, and Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Director Athapol Vannakit gave the Chinese a presentation on the city and its tourism development.
Qingdao Tourism officials sign a tourism-cooperation agreement with Pattaya City Hall officials.
Both sides agreed Pattaya and Qingdao share many similarities in tourism potential, beaches and entertainment venues. The Chinese trip to Thailand was a chance to build friendships between the cities and get an agreement for Pattaya officials to visit China later to provide technology to enhance the quality of life in Qingdao.
Chinese officials invited their Pattaya counterparts to exhibit at the 2014 Royal Flora Expo in Qingdao. Both sides exchanged gifts before signing the cooperation agreement.
