Asiatique The Riverfront is moving ahead with its dynamic entertainment offerings in the 4th quarter of this year with the opening of the spectacular cabaret show “Calypso Bangkok”. The world class performances are set to enthrall and entertain, drawing local and international visitor traffic to the development.
Mr. Napat Charoenkul, Director of Asiatique The Riverfront Project,revealed that Asiatique The Riverfront is currently considered to be a premier tourist attraction and night market in Thailand. It has made such an impact on the tourism sector, the project been designated as a new landmark in Bangkok. Asiatique The Riverfront has been developing its entertainment capabilities all along in order to meet a wide range of tourist demand. Its latest offering includes “Calypso Bangkok”, an institution in and of itself. Housed in a brand new theatre at Warehouse 3, “Calypso Bangkok” is sure to cause a surge in visitors to Asiatique The Riverfront.
“Calypso Bangkok” is Bangkok’s first transgendered performance troupe. For over 25 years, it has delighted audiences with its Broadway-style cabaret show; today, “Calypso Bangkok” remains the only such show in Thailand. It features over 70 talented performers who have honed their artistry under the guidance of Broadway veteran Mr. Hans Hoenicke. Coupled with timeless musical classics and beautiful choreography, the 15 performance sets in each show are truly spectacular.
The theatre can accommodate up to 450 guests during each show; there are two shows daily at 08.15 p.m. and 09.45 p.m. Each show is for about an hour and 15 minutes. Tickets are 1,200 baht per person.
