Some cool, chill-out rhythms could be heard emanating from The Jazz Pit on Soi 5 Pattaya 2nd Road on Saturday, Feb. 11 when a group of international musicians came together to perform.
The evening started with some bebop tunes including Doxy, Bolivia, I’ll Remember April, Footprints, and You Don’t Know What Love Is, featuring Thomas, the famous Austrian guitarist who has previously played with George Benson, and Odd Riisnaes who is teaching at the Royal Academy in Oslo.
Experience a great vibe at The Jazz Pit.
The second set began with Odd, Paul Erik from Denmark on trumpet and Thomas playing evergreens like Perdido, St. Thomas, and I Can’t Give You Anything But Love. After that they were joined by singer Mike, “The Mike” from Austria, performing The Lady is a Tramp, The Nearness of You, and The Way You Look Tonight.
The next set began with some amazing flamenco tunes, played by Wolfgang Simunovic which turned out to be a complete new music experience for some of the Jazz fans in attendance.
After that it was a trip to the Latin music world as the rest of the band brought some swing and Bossa Nova to the audience, doing standards like Now’s The Time, Fly Me to the Moon, The Girl From Ipanema, Bye Bye Blackbird, and Honeysuckle Rose.
The Jazz Pit is open from 8 p.m. to midnight daily except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and if you have any musical talent, you are welcome to join in the jam session, if not, just come over for a nice evening of music. For more information Tel. 038 428 374
