Two members of the band Nuvo unplugged their amps for an evening as they helped the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya kick off a new guitar-loan program.
Jirayus “Jo” Wattanasin and Sahart “Kong” Sangkhapreecha performed acoustic versions of fan favorites from the past two decades at the hotel’s Soul Lounge Sessions Feb. 15. They also knocked out some electronic music, but kept the vibe cool and mellow in line with the lounge’s downbeat theme.
Before Joe & Kong took the stage the house band Unplugged warmed up the audience, which needed little prompting to scream when the curtain rose on the main act.

The concert also marked the start of the Hard Rock’s “Picks” program, which allows hotel guests to borrow any of 20 Fender guitars to play in their room at no charge. Models include the famous Stratocaster, plus Classic, Telecaster and others. An amplifier is included with each loan, as are a pair of headphones so other guests are not disturbed.
