Dj Henry Knowles hosted a special black & white themed 1st year anniversary party for Latin Saturdays at the Havana Bar, Holiday Inn Pattaya on July 25, with special shows including dancers from the World Dance Studio rumPUREE, the Bangkok Touch, Let’s Dance Studio, Natalia Lazareva and the special appearance of a dancer who is known worldwide, Inaki Fernandez from Spain.

The evening event kicked off with the usual dance lessons by Luis Calderon, a dance teacher from World Dance Studio rumPUREE, before local and visiting hipsters filled the dance floor.  Although there were many professional and regular dancers, the dance floor was open to beginners to have fun as well.

Being held every Saturday, attending the Pattaya Latin Saturdays is an ideal way to unwind over the weekend.  People who don’t dance but love the music are welcome to come along, enjoy the mojito drinks and just chill out.  The dancing lessons are free and there is no cover charge at the door.

Pattaya Latin Saturdays have endured not only because of the enthusiasm of the organizer and the attendees, but also because of the venue.  Havana Bar is the perfect place for a Latin party.  Aside from being named after the capital city of Cuba in the Caribbean, the atmosphere, sound and the staff are just perfect for any Latin occasion.

Henry Knowles, who was on a mission a year ago, claimed that salsa music & dance can be very addictive and he has met success within the first year.  Henry has managed to attract hundreds of locals as well as the media from both Pattaya and Bangkok to his events.  He also hosts the popular Salsa Tuesdays in Bangkok at the Spanish on 4 Restaurant, Silom Soi 4.

Future plans for Pattaya Latin Saturdays include presenting more special events several times a year, hopefully at least once a month, and featuring international artists, dance shows and musicians.  For more information, visit: www.facebook.com/SalsaThailand.
