To mark the 150th anniversary of the publication of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, Regents International School students recently performed an audacious interpretation of the classic and much-loved story in the school’s Globe Theatre.
First published in 1865, the novel, written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll, tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar characters and creatures.

The Regents’ performances before a packed, appreciative audience took place from 17-19 November and involved a cast of more than 50 students who devoted several weeks of their own spare time to preparations and rehearsals.
In what was a milestone for the school, the production witnessed a fully integrated collaboration between the Music and Drama departments as talented musical students from Years 10 and 12 wrote and performed their own score to accompany the onstage acting.
