Quatro Ludo (U.K.) started DJing at clubs in the late 90s during a stint up at Sheffield in the North of England as a student. A dedicated vinyl enthusiast, he is both crate digger and DJ, always carrying a large box of records and plying his trade on Technics 1200s.
An aficionado of a large range of dance music, Quatro Ludo can be heard spinning an large range of different styles, from hip-hop, reggae and dub to soul funk, afro, disco, house and techno. His 4Players parties, a feature on the Bangkok club and bar scene for the past two years, have showcased all these forms and more, refusing to settle on one style and tempo and blending genres with the assurance of someone who knows ‘music is music.’
Depending on the crowd, setting and mood, Quatro Ludo might incorporate a large range of influences or focus on just one. But whatever you’re hearing, you can be sure the sound is coming from a record selected with love and played to lift spirits, always taking the crowd higher.
Recent gigs have seen Quatro Ludo play at Kolour Sundays, GLOW and Club Culture. Other venues include: Black Pagoda, Viva Aviv (Rivercity), Dickinson’s Culture Cafe, Chez Lodin, Bar 22, Dickinson’t Culture Cafe, Harmonica, Cafe Democ and WTF Bar.
