Back in 1999 the club scene in Europe and especially the UK was dominated by one track: ‘Turn Around’ by Phats & Small. The duo consisted of Jason “Phats” Hayward and Russell Small and the track featured a sample of Toney Lee’s “Reach Up”. The song debuted at number three in the UK Singles Chart, before climbing to number two.
Now nearly twenty years later Phats & Small, along with other great acts, will be playing in Pattaya as party of the Jacaranda Lounge – Ibiza Party Asia at the Cliff Pool Club on Thursday 16th of February. The gig in Pattaya is the final of a three event schedule, the previous two being held in Phuket and Samui respectively.
Event Coordination Manager for the Ibiza Party, David Hayes, stated: “When you think about party destinations in Thailand, there are three places that come to mind, Phuket, Samui and Pattaya. We understand that Pattaya has a huge demographic, it is famous for its entertainment in all its different aspects and we also acknowledge that a number of music themed events have been staged here and have been very successful. So for us Pattaya was a natural choice.”
In addition to Phats & Small the event will also feature DJ sets from Rick Live and Jamie Porteous who will broadcast to over 500,000 listeners on Ibiza Global Radio.
David Hayes continued: “The Cliff Pool Club has just the right vibe for the Ibiza Party Asia. It’s a trendy club with fantastic views across the bay and will be able to accommodate a huge crowd. We anticipate that with the acts we will be showcasing along with the fiesta shows, acrobats, dancers and singers, it will bring a whole new aspect to the music and entertainment scene in Pattaya.”
