It was the McLaren F1, a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Cars. Originally a concept conceived by Gordon Murray, he convinced Ron Dennis to back the project and engaged Peter Stevens to design the exterior and interior of the car. The driver sat in the middle and the two passengers either side and slightly behind. The speed records were set in 1998.
