Last week I asked what car was this? They only made a few of them. Top speed 372 km/h, zero to 100 in 3.2 seconds and was a car for three. What was it? Clue – the youngest one is 20 years old. It was the McLaren F1, a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Cars. Originally a concept conceived by Gordon Murray, he convinced Ron Dennis to back the project and engaged Peter Stevens to design the exterior and interior of the car. The driver sat in the middle and the two passengers either side and slightly behind. The speed records were set in 1998.

So to this week. Despite the Great Depression there was much original activity in the automobile field. One famous car had a Ford V8 in the rear, a fiberglass body and a connection with an ancient Egyptian motif. What was it?
