Last week I mentioned the names Lee Iacocca and Carroll Shelby and they came together in a famous race, and I asked: what was the car? No clues, there’s enough already. It was the original Dodge Viper. Carroll built it, Lee signed it off for production, and it was the pace car for the Indy 500. I have driven an early 8 liter V10 Viper and it was truly exhilarating.
So to this week. Who took two Italian economy cars and connected the fronts together with a simple ladder frame and made race winning cars?
