The world is saturated with articles about electric vehicles. But are they yet practical? Certainly, they can and are, produced in Thailand, but the cheapest new EV is the Nissan X-trail at 1.4 million baht, which is about 30 percent more than Internal Combustion Engined (ICE) variety.
With EV’s representing only 1 percent of the export production from Thailand, there is no pressing need for EV Infrastructure at this stage, but with electric powered Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan X-Trail, Mercedes 500 and 350, and BMW X5 and 330, there will be a time in the future. It is a bit like the chicken and the egg – what comes first? The car or the recharging stations?
