Naklua residents complained about piles of construction rubbish left on Wong Amat Beach.
The city’s call center was flooded with grievances from home and business owners on Naklua Soi 18 angry about the junk left in front of the Northpoint Condominium, saying it was an eyesore that destroyed the natural beauty of the area.
City council members who investigated the complaints March 4 found trash mixed with sand, soil, wood, metal scrap and rocks.
Residents noted that some foreign tourists were injured after stepping barefoot on the rocks and sharp objects.
The Environment Department pledged that something will be done about the rubbish soon.
