The signs on Big Buddha Mountain prohibit cars and motorbikes from driving to the peak, but apparently people going to take in the view every day either can’t read, or don’t care. Perhaps they are just too lazy to walk.
As is the case most days, cars and motorbikes were powering up the path on Khao Phra Yai May 24. Police, of course, have posted signs, but no one enforces the rules, so in anything goes Thailand, they are, of course, ignored.
Unless authorities want even more traffic where there is supposed to be none, police or civic officials should start enforcing traffic laws in the area.
