Utility line limbo on Soi Daeng Dam Thepprasit

Pedestrians on Soi Daeng Dam Thepprasit are doing the limbo these days trying to avoid telephone and cable-television cables hanging nearly to the ground.

Near the beginning of the street, the black wires were just three meters above the ground, instead of the required 10.

Residents said they have complained to the Provincial Electricity Authority, which manages the utility poles, but said they were told by PEA staffers that the lines were not power cables and, thus, not their responsibility.

Workers from some company showed up a few weeks ago and tied up the lines, but left the bundles still hanging too low.

People commuting must be careful, especially any car driving from the Department of Land and heading to Thepprasit Road. The cables almost touched the heads of people or roofs of cars.
