South Korean e-commerce giant 11 Street continued its Thai expansion with the opening of its eastern regional office in Pattaya.
Hong Sol Chon, board chairman for 11 Street (Thailand) and digital marketing chief David Cho announced the opening July 20 at the Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort.
Hong said the online retailer, founded by SK Planet Co., is South Korea’s top marketplace and since its 2008 founding has expanded to Malaysia, Indonesia and Turkey.
The company entered the Thai market in February, blitzing Bangkok with high-profile marketing, including taking over all branding at several Bangkok Mass Transit System stations. It has now opened a branch office in Pattaya to facilitate its eastern operations.
11 Street’s Thai shopping portal so far has attracted 17 million page views with 16,000 unique users and 430,000 customers, Hong said.
