BANGKOK, 16 May 2013 – The Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry is looking to prevent rubber price in the country from fluctuating, setting the price at 110 baht per kilogram.
After meeting with the Thai Rubber Association, Deputy Agriculture Minister Yuthapong Charas-sathian said the meeting has agreed to set this year’s rubber price at 110 per kilo, admitting that it has been fluctuating since the Songkran Festival last month.
He further revealed that there have been purchase requests for Thai rubber from foreign buyers, but no deals have been made so far.
As for the next meeting, the deputy minister said he would invite Thai Rubber Association Honorary President Dr. Pongsak Kerdvongbundit to discuss the future of Thai rubber, expecting the next meeting to provide more useful details on the matter.
