BANGKOK, 7 August 2013 The PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC) has pledged to compensate all business owners affected by the oil spill in Rayong Province within a month’s time.
The PTTGC has disclosed its rehabilitation plan for those who have been affected by the oil spill. The company will start off by compensating small- and medium-sized businesses, especially those in the fishery industry, as they were forced to stop their operations during the incident. The compensation will be calculated based on their daily earnings. The company expects the first lot of compensation payments to be made within this week.
As for big enterprises like resorts and hotels, the amount of compensation will be calculated based on their earnings between July and August of 2012.
The company has also affirmed that all groups affected by the spill will be compensated within 1 month.
