BANGKOK, 27 September 2013 The Airports of Thailand (AOT) has celebrated the 7th anniversary of Suvarnabhumi International Airport, giving away a 2.9 million-baht car.
To celebrate Suvarnabhumi Airport’s 7th anniversary, the AOT has held the “7-Year Delight @ Suvarnabhumi Airport” event, during which a Mercedes-Benz 2.9-million-baht was presented to a lucky traveler, Takaichi Wataru, from Japan.
According to Airport’s Director Raweewan Netarakavesana, the event was part of the AOT’s plan to attract more passengers and stimulate spending in the airport as well as to build confidence among buyers and more than 300 business operators in Suvarnabhumi.
The director also revealed that Suvarnabhumi Airport sees over 310 million passengers passing through its doors each year. The Airport has since the beginning of 2013 received received 3 awards including “Best in Travel Poll” given by www.smarttravelasia.com, “5th Best Airport of Asia” given by www.agoda.com, and was ranked among the world’s top ten airports by Skytrax.
Suvarnabhumi International Airport has been in operation since September 2006. In 2012, it was the 14th busiest airport in the world and 6th busiest airport in Asia.
