Apr state enterprise revenues exceeds target

BANGKOK, 10 May 2011  – The State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) has reported that revenue collections from state enterprises since the beginning of 2011 fiscal year (1 October 2010) until April 2011 exceeded the target by over 8.6 billion baht. 

According to SEPO Director Somchai Sujjapongse, revenue collections from state enterprises in April 2011 alone were about 21.3 billion baht.

Top revenue generators are the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, the Government Savings Bank, the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Government Housing Bank and the Government Lottery Office respectively.

State enterprises sent a total of 63.69 billion baht in revenue to the state coffer from 1 October 2010 to 30 April 2011. The sum was 8.64 billion baht higher than the estimate and represented 75.46% of the projected revenue collection of 84.40 billion baht throughout the 2011 fiscal year.

Mr Somchai hence voiced his confidence that revenue collection from state enterprises this fiscal year would exceed the target set.
