AYUTHAYA, 20 August 2014  — The central province of Ayutthaya announced to reorganize a shop zone in the city’s key tourist attraction spot with an aim to improve landscape of the ancient city.

According to Col. Ronavuth Raungsawat, deputy chief of Ayutthaya’s Internal Security Operations Command, there are more than 300 shops operating without any permission in the peripheral of Phra Mongkhonborphit Viharn which is the key tourist spot of the city.

He said these shops obstructed the view of the beautiful old temple and its peripheral. They will be moved out and settle down in a new place near the old spot within two months. It is a part of Ayutthaya landscape improvement, aiming to attract more tourists to the city. According to Col. Ronavuth, more than a million tourists visit Phra Mongkhonborphit Viharn every year.
